Software Leader | Nordic Explorer | Building the Future
I'm fifty years old, Spanish by birth, Finnish by circumstance. My journey took me from Madrid to Bilbao at twenty-eight, and then to Finland eighteen years ago. I never planned to stay this long—life had other ideas. I've been in IT since 1999, moving into leadership in 2004, and currently lead a team of sixty developers at Nordea.
I've worked for IBM, Nokia, Microsoft, ARM, and now Nordea, where I focus on authentication and digital signing processes. Along the way, I co-founded three companies—one in trading markets, one as a Nokia spin-off, and one as an artist creating charcoal and pastel portraits. What I love most is building teams and watching people grow—setting the gears together in a way that the engine works.
My dream is to become an international public speaker. I'm working toward it every day, focusing on AI topics mixed with storytelling. I attend Toastmasters every three weeks and practice regularly. I don't want to be another AI talking head—I want to create content that feels human. When I'm not leading teams or speaking, you'll find me walking in nature or drawing charcoal portraits.
I practice a practical form of stoicism: focus on what you can control, let go of what you can't. My priorities are freedom—the freedom to choose how I spend my time, work on things that put me in a good emotional state, and never stop consuming knowledge like oxygen.
